Journey Treasure Box
Judges 18:6 (NLT)
“Go in peace,” the priest replied. “For the LORD is watching over your journey.”
Not only is the Lord watching over my journey – HE is with me. God is teaching me to trust Him, teaching me to understand my need for Him in all things, and teaching me to go to Him. I started blogging privately a bit in the beginning and could see God’s handprint in everything. I would blog about something and then truth would return to me in various forms. I was constantly asking God for help, and he was providing gentle and comforting care to my soul. Little by little, I began to see the many ways he cares for me and loves me. I did not want to forget any of these truths. I wanted a box to house the treasures of this journey – “God provided treasures” to always remember He is faithful and He is present.
2 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT)
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

I already have boxes that hold Christmas cards, boxes for each child with various items inside, and boxes and boxes and boxes of pictures. Wouldn’t it make sense to have a box for my journey?
1 Timothy 6:19 (NLT)
By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

I don’t know where I will be 10 years from now, or 20 years from now…but I want to be able to open this box and see the treasures inside that remind me that God was faithful to me throughout my journey. He gave me the power to take the next step, to do the next thing, and experience the true life He intended for me to have in Him. Some day I’ll use this box to share my journey with my kids, and even their kids…
Deuteronomy 4:9 (NIV)
Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
