Be The One.
The story of Jesus healing the ten lepers jumped off the page of my bible recently. As soon as I read it I thought “I want to be the one!”
Jesus Heals Ten Men With Leprosy Luke 17:11-17
Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
A few days later in our ladies Bible Study – we were in week 3 of the “Walking By Faith – Lessons Learned in the Dark” by Jennifer Rothschild, and the lepers were mentioned again.
And then my four-year old brought this home from Pre-School and he said, “Mom, the band-aid is on the heart to remind us that Jesus Heals.”
I immediately thought of the one leper again. The one that came back praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him.
I knew at that moment that this Thanksgiving I wanted to be the one. The one who says THANK YOU Jesus for healing me.
Thank you for saving me, and calling me your precious daughter.
Thank you for your living and active Word that speaks into my life, bringing me both comfort and conviction.
Thank you for your holy spirit that guides me, teaches me and reminds me. (John 14:26)
Thank you for the love and support from my family, especially my husband and our three precious gifts.
Thank you for my amazing counselor who has created a safe and caring environment for me to share and heal.
Thank you for sending me friends… who listen, share, pray, cry, and laugh alongside me.
Thank you for Zumba…where every movement allows me to find you in all of my being. (Acts 17:28)
Thank for your for all things pink…every pink sky spells Jesus Loves Me now.
Thank you for birds…every song reminds me that you watch over me and meet my every need.
Thank you for glitter and sparkle…reminding me to shine bright.
Thank you for butterflies…showing me you turn cocoons into fragile beauty.
This Thanksgiving, I run to you praising you in a loud voice. I fall at your feet Jesus and I am thankful.
I am not yet whole, yet I am wholly yours.
Isaiah 51:3 The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.
Jesus Paid It All (Hymn by Elvina M. Hall)
- I hear the Savior say,
“Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.”
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
- For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim;
I’ll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.
- And now complete in Him,
My robe, His righteousness,
Close sheltered ’neath His side,
I am divinely blest.
- Lord, now indeed I find
Thy pow’r, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots
And melt the heart of stone.
- When from my dying bed
My ransomed soul shall rise,
“Jesus died my soul to save,”
Shall rend the vaulted skies.
- And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I’ll lay my trophies down,
All down at Jesus’ feet.
And now, it’s your turn…to be the one.
Beautiful!!! Thank you for the reminder to be the one who returns to thank our Lord for all His goodness and daily blessings!
I see so many of other nines, try to grab them together to give thanks, but it is too heavy for me to do, I am disappointed, argued with, but I remember there is you, Jesus. I leave them for you Jesus so I can run a fast way to you.
I am Thankful for your sharing.
Love the new blog!
