  1. Rondel! When I was 18 a girl in my dorm was singing El Shaddai. I stopped in her room to compliment her. She explained to me the song and Amy Grant. That’s the first time I had heard of a Christian song that wasn’t the traditional church hymn and the first time I heard GOD called anything other than GOD. I was so moved and changed and I can recall it like it was yesterday. The girls name is Kim Hill and she opened for Amy a couple of years and has her own music on ITunes (FYI). I started listening to Amy Grant’s music which opened up a whole new genre for me. I love the song and love your blogs.

  2. Thank you for sharing this today…God using you at just the right time for me! Thanks for drawing my focus to His seeing quality. He has always, does & always will see me – no matter what my feelings or logic try to tell me. And thanks for sharing the video – Amy Grant is one of my all time favorites & I remember many times of crying out this song as I attempted to pray. Thanks for sharing. Keep writing my friend! ❤

    1. Thank you Amanda! The lyrics are so powerful and strong… it was great to revisit this song! Hope you had a Merry Christmas, and I will be praying for you in the New Year! Keep going, friend! <3

  3. It’s so good to see you here again, Michelle. I’m sorry this year has been so tough for you, and yet I’m so grateful of how the Lord has shown you throughout it that He sees and knows. And He has given you His Truth to combat all that’s so hard to understand. I haven’t heard this song for a long time. The lyrics struck me in a deeper way and brought tears to my eyes, especially this part – “To the outcast on her knees, you were the God who really sees. And by your might, you set your children free.” Also how God from age to age is the same. The same God who worked a miracle in Mary can work miracles in our lives today! Thank you for encouraging my heart today. I hope you and your family have a Blessed Christmas! Love and hugs!
