30 Days of Truth: Do not be afraid, keep on speaking, do not be silent.
Truth #16: Do not be afraid, keep on speaking, do not be silent.
I was sitting in a room filled with women at a Beth Moore simulcast. The theme of the event was to be courageous and share your story. This was one of the many verses she shared with us to give us courage.
I felt so broken that day. I sat with my back to my friends and cried the entire time. I didn’t think I could ever tell my story. I hadn’t even shared it with my husband! She gave us an assignment to print the “Fear Not!” verses from her blog and pray them everyday. I looked forward to praying these verses because I needed all the courage I could get. {Click here for the link}
On the ride home, we shared pieces of our story and I remember feeling just a tad bit braver. I hardly said anything, but I was starting to feel like it was certainly possible. Maybe I could tell my story…one day.
I realized that even in counseling, it all started with a few words and those words became sentences. It was messy at times, but I started saying bits and pieces.
I prayed for Him to help me to not be afraid.
I prayed for Him to give me the courage to say more.
I prayed for God to help me tell my husband.
Thank you for sharing your story, Michelle. I believe it will help others do the same. When God laid on my heart the end of last year to post guest stories on my blog, I am thankful to be part of His plan. There are some who have never shared, or never shared on a blog. It is an exciting privilege to see God working and moving! Have a blessed Monday.
Julie it is awesome that you are encouraging and helping others to share their stories! Praying God’s blessings on your ministry as you inspire and come alongside others. Stories are so powerful! Blessings to you!
Amen to life stories, heart stories, stories of pain and love and rescue and redemption!
