BACK COVER:

What does it look like to heal from Sexual Abuse? How is it even possible?

Secrets. We all have them. Michelle had plenty of secrets and intended to take them all to her grave. Married with three children, she owned a business and actively participated in church. Everything appeared wonderful on the outside, but on the inside, secrets from her childhood bubbled up and wreaked havoc in her life. She visited a counselor determined to heal quickly without telling anyone else her secrets. But healing took time, and she had to continue to show up and sit in the counselor’s office. Sit with the awful memories. Sit with the Lord. Sit with others. None of those chairs were comfortable or easy, but they were necessary for healing. She never wanted anyone to know about the sexual abuse she endured throughout her childhood. But God had other plans. This is the story of how He saw her, healed her, and set her free.

Rave Reviews For Journey PinK
Michelle’s courage to speak what was formerly unspeakable and her faith to follow Jesus despite hard questions make an inspiring, powerful story. Journey Pink is rich with truths from the Bible that address beliefs and feelings so common in childhood trauma survivors. Though she shares her pain with candor, the heart of this story is about redemption and the power of Christ to heal what seems impossible. I highly recommend Journey Pink for survivors and those who love them!
Lyneta Smith, author of Curtain Call

I was 40 weeks pregnant and could not wait to give I was 40 weeks pregnant and could not wait to give birth. Another week passed, and I was 41 weeks when I arrived at the hospital for my scheduled induction. Two epidurals and twenty hours later, my first-born son arrived via c-section. At my six-week check-up, the doctor said, “You need to plan on having c-sections in the future.” I knew it was not possible for my body to birth a child on its own. I would need help getting the baby out. What does this have to do with a launch team?
I am about to birth my book baby into the world. I’ve been writing my story of healing from childhood sexual abuse for the last ten years. Again, I need help getting this baby out!
Toni Morrison said, “If there’s a book you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”
Journey Pink is the book I needed when my past started bubbling up. No amount of being busy worked for me anymore. I wondered, “Should I go to counseling? How do you even heal from sexual abuse? Is it possible? What does it look like?”
Those questions had me on the edge of asking for help. Finally, I picked up the phone and scheduled the appointment.
My book tells the rest of the story…
