“I’ve always pretended to be okay. That my life is fine. But I have always been far from okay. I’m falling apart. I keep having bad dreams, and all these awful memories keep popping up. I feel bad and guilty all the time. I look confident, but I see myself as a burden to others. I believe people only tolerate me. This neon ogre green is awful. I know you can’t see it. But it’s there. I feel it all over me. And it’s exhausting. Most of all, I’m tired of pretending. I’m not even sure I can anymore.”
